Summary
Nobody moves for a moment as Shane stares the woman down, and he’s seconds away from sawing the damn thing off himself, when the woman nods to the men surrounding the hybrid. And then there’s a flurry of movement, a clicking sound and then the men stand back to reveal Ilya in his bare faced glory, unobstructed by the muzzle.
Shane takes him in, inhaling softly at the sharp cheekbones, the moles dusted over his face, the pillowy lips that are set in a firm, displeased line. Shane wonders how big his fangs are. If he was a fighter, they must have been sharpened regularly.
Shane doesn’t want to think about the damage this wall of a hybrid had inflicted on others, the damage he could inflict on Shane. The hybrid stares at him, expression hard to determine but the intensity of it has Shane holding back a shiver. He’s staring at Shane like he can see every thought inside of him, calculating. As if they were on opposing sides of a ring, ready for the bell to chime and for Ilya to go in for the kill.
Shane gets roped into fostering a troublesome hybrid with a bad track record. Except what begins as a cordial arrangement turns into something much more complicated.

Summary
Shane had come around on the idea of Ilya spitting on his food and in his drinks the second he realised that it was going to become a theme. The immediate gut reaction of arousal, lead fairly quickly into a private spiral of shame before looping back around to a deep wanting again. The whole thought process had occurred in roughly under 5 minutes. But knowing you liked your husband spitting on everything and asking for it were two completely different things. Shane thought about it a lot, practiced how he would bring it up in conversation in his head and tried to give small hints to Ilya that he would be open to trying it again sometime. Eventually, he resigned himself to wait, he knew Ilya well enough to trust he would handle it.
Or: the five times Ilya spits on Shane's food/drink and one time Shane spits back

Summary
Shane takes a moment to enjoy the freckled expanse, rippling with muscle. He unclasps the hook of the necklace and reaches his arms over Ilya’s head, draping the pearls across his collarbones, overtop of his normal gold chain. Ilya sucks in a breath when the cold stones touch his skin.
Shane clips the two ends together, letting it rest naturally across Ilya’s neck, and then—
“AH fuck! ….Ow”
Shane suddenly finds himself on the ground, legs swept out from under him by something large and heavy. The breath’s been knocked out of him and it takes a second to find it again. He’s more worried about what could have sent Ilya to the ground so quickly like that. Did he pass out? Is he sick? Did Anya come in? He hears a groan from somewhere nearby and turns his head in that direction.
“…Ilya? Oh my god.”

OR, Shane finds a gift for Ilya at an old antique shop, and it turns into a night they'll never forget.
