Summary
Keith gets a text at 3 a.m. from his use to be best friend whom he hasn't talked to in years. It causes him to reminisce on their relationship and the feelings he left unsaid for his best friend. What will he do? How will he respond to his text? Is he going to answer the best friend he hasn't seen in several years who he was in love with, after he gets invited to his wedding?

“It’s not. I wasn’t thinking, I-,” he stopped me once more.
“Want to dance?” He asked.
I searched his face for signs of repugnance, fury, or aversion. However, all I found was sincerity. The same soft features he wore when putting a bandaid on his younger cousin's scraped knee or helping his mama in the kitchen. My observations of him don’t lead me to an answer.
Instead, I stated, “There is no music.”
“There doesn’t have to be,” he replied.

Summary
The number one rule to any friendship is don’t fall in love with your best friend—a simple task. Don’t overthink any ambiguous text, random touching, or gestures that could be interpreted to contain romantic undertones. Don’t look at them for too long, because then you’ll start to notice their nose, splattered with freckles, crinkles when they laugh, their hair curls around the nape of their neck, and when they smile their tongue pokes out the side of their teeth.

“Are you sure this is just a jealousy issue?” Pidge asked in an arrogant tone like they knew something he didn’t.
“What do you mean?” Lance asked back, choosing to deflect by answering with a question.
“I’m just saying you talk about him an awful lot,” They drew out every syllable.
“Well he’s my rival Pidge, that’s kinda what you do, complain about each other. What are you trying to get to with your cryptic psychoanalytic crap,” Lance exasperated.

“I’m putting in a transfer request to Carleton this afternoon.”
Ilya gets off his bike and wraps his sweaty arms around Shane’s sweaty shoulders, presses their sweaty heads together and holds him tight. “Nooo, Hollander, you cannot leave me. Who will put Barrett and Marly in time out when they fuck up too many shots in a row?”
“I’m sure Bood will do it. He loves bossing people around.”
Bood stands up straight and salutes his captains. “I take the title with great honor. Enjoy the Ravens, Hollander—your legacy of being a chaste Victorian debutante will be remembered fondly but not carried on.”
This snaps that last thread of Shane’s refined patience. “I can pick up girls! I have no problem getting numbers and calling them and talking!”
Hazy smirks. “Innocent until proven guilty.”
“I can pick people up,” Shane says again, moving off his bike and out of Ilya’s sweaty embrace. “And I don’t have to do it by concocting schemes or stripping on top of the LAX bros’ coffee table.”
Or, after some team chirping at Shane's expense, Ilya accidentally interrupts a few of his potential dating prospects and then keeps on doing it less than accidentally

There was something so nostalgic about the scene in front of him. With the golden lamp light shining over him, the sharp slope of his nose, the absolute chaos surrounding him. It reminded Kojiro of high school, of evenings spent in Kaoru’s bedroom while the boy studied for his test the next morning that he hadn’t bothered revising for prior to that night, his bedroom as messy as his desk as Kojiro huddled in the corner of his bed, watching.
And Kojiro remembered that evening, watching Kaoru hastily memorise a year’s worth of content, and he remembered the words on the tip of his tongue.
The words he’d been swallowing possibly for years.
