Summary
Kaku leaned back in his chair, arm behind Kalifa as long legs stretched out, grin too deliberate to be harmless.
“You ever notice,” he began lazily, glancing at Paulie, “some people choke on a compliment like it’s poison. Others might just volunteer for… extra duties.”
A ripple of laughter circled the table.
Paulie stiffened. “The hell’s that supposed to mean?”
Kalifa lifted her glass, smiling behind it. “It means,” she said lightly, “that if Lucci so much as smiled at you, you’d forget how to speak.”
Paulie shot halfway out of his chair, alcohol spilling out over the table as his face flushed red. “I would not!”
“Denial doesn’t suit you” someone shouted.
The table erupted. Louder now. Freer.
Paulie’s ears burned. His protests tangled in themselves while eyes turned— not only amused, but curious.
Across from him, Lucci sat very still.

Summary
“Lucci’s got an appointment today,” Kaku said at last, voice mild, as though remarking on the weather or the slow turning of the seasons. “Eye doctor.”
Paulie’s hands stilled for the briefest moment before resuming their work, fingers tightening around the rope as if to remind it of its purpose. He did not look up.
“So?” he muttered.
Kaku smiled into his cup. “So,” he continued, “he’ll be coming in late. And he’ll be wearing his new glasses.”

Rob Lucci wears glasses. This is not something the general public knows about, especially not something his temporary coworkers would know. Something else, that the general public would not know, is that Paulie is horrible at hiding his crush on his coworker.
Fellow Cipher-Pol members– Kaku and Kalifa– have already decided this is a crush they would use to the mission's advantage, an advantage that Rob Lucci is aware of.
So, of course they would agree Paulie would appreciate Lucci wearing his glasses in public. Naturally, anyone would.

A cigarette trembled between Sanji’s lips.
He didn’t light it right away. It sat there, dry and waiting, like a question he wasn’t ready to answer. His fingers hovered near the flint, motionless. The lighter clicked once, twice, until finally the flame caught and the paper hissed to life, curling like a whisper. Smoke rose and the scent of burning tobacco filled the quiet night, too gentle for what was clawing inside him.
He didn’t drag. Didn’t need to. Just watching it burn was enough.

Luffy continues his approach and yeah, Sanji definitely didn't imagine the tension and stares earlier. There's nothing innocent about that look. Sanji may as well be a prime cut of sea king steak with the palpable hunger in Luffy's posture.
A brief glance to the left reveals Mossy blatantly enthralled with the scene playing out before him. Sanji is well versed with the look of lust on his lover's face but there's else there too. Something that makes Sanji want to follow through with this, wherever it leads…
