He can do this for hours. And nobody can ask him a thing about it, because every time someone starts to act like they might, Ed gets that big brother face. “Leave my little brother alone or I’ll slap a bitch,” that kind of face. No one wants to test Ed when he gets like that.

Midoriya turns to him and smiles. It’s a very wide smile, close-lipped and eyes bright with adventure, and Tenya is suddenly and inexplicably reminded of those deep-sea fish that are mostly just a bright light and some teeth.

He looks down at Ochako, and thinks of how easy it would be to love her, to go on dates with her and hold her hand and keep leaning against her like this—but the thought perishes, because how silly, how silly to think of it as a possibility when it is the truth. He loves her, and it’s not the same microwaveable way he feels about Todoroki, nor the same way he feels about Tenya and his parents, but it’s there, and he loves that, too. He loves loving, and he loves feeling loved.
He hasn’t really thought about that either, but, he thinks, his heart has always known.

Summary
Quirk accidents, while few and far in between, inevitably occurred in any society. Most, thankfully, were not destructive in scale. In large part they were due to the quirk manifestations of an unwitting toddler, thrust upon a hapless passerby, and would take no longer than a day since a quirk's effect generally faded after 24 hours. And like any accident, it could happen to anyone, anywhere.

Aizawa starts walking towards the exit, obviously expecting Shouto to follow him, but Shouto's feet are frozen in place. His eyes flicker from the distorted reflection of himself in the ice to where All Might is giving him a long look, eyes kinder than anything Todoroki has ever been deserving of, and he feels sick.
“Todoroki-kun,” Midoriya says gently, squeezing his arm in what Shouto presumes is meant to be a reassuring gesture. “It’s going to be okay.”
He doesn’t think Midoriya is in any place to tell him what okay is, all things considered, but he chooses to keep quiet on the matter.
