Summary
It's a year out from rescuing Cas from the Empty (again), a year since Dean and Cas could finally have what they both wanted — but for Cas, it still doesn't feel like a happy ending. His grace is never going to be what it was once, and he is struggling to come to terms with it. He finds an interesting coping mechanism, tries to hide it, and finds out that Dean is no longer willing to accept any secrets between them.

Dean has been avoiding Castiel as much as possible since the dust settled on the end of the world. When forced together to go investigate a haunted lighthouse, things start to thaw, but Cas’ confession still hangs over them, and they’re still not talking about it. Cas’ choice to trust a ghost and risk his life (again) might be the thing that pushes them over the edge.
