I heard you calling for me, even across dimensions—"
"I—I wasn't," Will cuts in, a tremor to his voice. "I never wanted any of this. You're insane!"
"—sometimes we aren't conscious of what we ask for," Henry smiles then, and his hand moves, thumb shifting to press against Will's mouth. He tightens his lips in response, thinking about that vine down his throat, frozen solid. "How do you think I knew which children to pluck from their homes, which ones to save? There is a connection between all of us that goes beyond what Brenner could do out of every number. When that gate opened, I already knew what I had to do. I had planned it for years. Sometimes, Will really, really wishes he could catch a fucking break.
As if getting dragged into the Upside Down and making everyone rescue him a second time wasn’t bad enough, this time, somehow, Will also leaves the Upside Down with the ability to read people’s minds.
At least he’s not throwing up slugs this time.or;
Will gets telepathic powers, and can't control them. Through this, he accidentally learns that his best friend is having some less than heterosexual thoughts.
The only problem is he doesn't seem to know he's having them.Series

Summary
As children, their height difference had always been something that made Will’s stomach flip-flop in that familiar, weightless manner. Fluttery, before he had ever known what it meant.
Mike would never loom over him, ominous and terrifying like adults were.
Now, with a few years and a handful of growth spurts between them, the difference isn’t as obvious. If Will stood up at full length, he’d meet Mike’s eye with ease. But Will has never learned how to control himself around Mike. So he makes himself smaller, without really meaning to.

Four times someone points out Will acting weird around Mike, and the one time Mike asks him about it.
