So what do you do when you're a redstone genius that's deathly afraid of your employer? Flirt with him, obviously.

Clown gave a lopsided smile, his teeth sharp. “When it comes to what really matters, the house always wins, love.”
Branzy nodded thoughtfully, turning back to the machine. That makes sense then. He’s never been the best businessman—Rek was the expert on that normally. And—
“Hang on,” Branzy suddenly said, turning back around, “What did you just call me?”
Clown blinked innocently.
He stared at Clown for a moment more, before abruptly turning back to the machine. Branzy poked around in the mechanical guts, trying to keep his heart from picking up speed. Had Clown been … he couldn’t have been. Could he? Was he flirting?

“If you’d move your ass, I would, Gunpowder!” Honestly, this twat.
“Cope and seethe, little man.” Tim said smoothly, glancing at his nails in boredom. He knew it pushed Jonny’s buttons to be blown off like this, and he was feeling like getting some petty revenge for the last few hours or so of blatant cheating, sue him.
Jonny looked at Ashes, tossing his arms at Tim with vigor. He stared at Ashes meaningfully, raising his eyebrows in disbelief.
“Do you see the bullshit I deal with? This mutiny? I am the captain-“
“First mate!” Both Ashes and Tim chimed in unison, though one stated it matter of fact while the latter chirped it out gleefully. ~

Summary
Zolf comes in rain-soaked from yet another dead end and, now that he can focus properly without getting drenched, reaches out to his new, nameless god for a jolt of that not-quite-hope that’s been keeping him going.
It washes over him, warm and bright, for just a moment, and he finds himself completely dry, which is nice. Spares him having to wring out his beard and rebraid the bits that get mucked up. He wanders the inn looking for Wilde before he remembers Wilde won’t have any interest in seeing him.
(Zolf quarantines, Wilde copes, and definitely neither of them has feelings for the other)
