Summary
Nathaniel Graves is a young man scarred by years of abuse from his father, which led to his painful time in military school and eventual escape into a cult. Seeking love and acceptance, he was only further manipulated, leaving him desperate and broken. After fleeing, he ends up in the barn of Richard Kellogg, where his need for connection and survival collide.
Richard Kellogg is a solitary, gruff man with a violent past and deep mistrust of others. When Nathaniel stumbles onto his land, Richard considers turning him away but reluctantly takes him in. Their relationship, full of tension and unspoken emotions, becomes complicated as Richard’s feelings shift between reluctant responsibility and cold detachment.
