Tim shook his head and grinned smugly. “It would be so easy to seduce you, Boot.” He picked up his glass and ran his thumb over the condensation in slow, smooth circles before bringing it up his lips and finishing off the last of the whiskey in one long gulp. “If I wanted to.”

He remembers hauling Lucy outside for some air, her hand held tight in his as they stumbled onto the concrete of the strip.
He remembers being so enthralled by her as she laughed and danced down the sidewalk that he almost ran into a pole.
He remembers her hauling him inside of the chapel, less than a few blocks from their hotel.
(“I just want to watch, Tim!” she’d cried, laughing and smiling as she’d tugged on their clasped hands, and he hadn’t been able to deny her anything in that moment.)
He remembers sliding the ring onto her finger and kissing her.
