It was a rare enough sight that she considered letting him sleep, but instead, she rolled over, kneeling on either side of him as he began to blink open his eyes.
“Well,” he said, sleep in his voice no matter how suave he was trying to sound. “Good morning to you too, Detective.”

Summary
You need to read the other fics in 'A Kiss to Build a Dream On' for this to make sense - at least, I'd say, Flash, Bam, Alakazam, but I'd recommend reading the others too.
A slowly defrosting Norm in hand, Lucy and Cooper end up having to take refuge in a settlement; one he'd done his best to avoid in the before-times, and isn't particularly happy about being in, now.
They just need a few nights, though - the chance to rest, check in with a medic, maybe send a message ahead to the farm.
Simple... right?
For Cooper and his Goose, though, is anything ever simple?

Summary
Vaultie doesn’t talk much for the first couple of days.
Coop tries not to dwell on it—lot easier for him, lot safer for them, if she keeps her mouth shut. Just…well, hell, it’s one of those things that niggles at him, twitching in the back of his mind like a worm on a hook. Dumb fuckin’ fish that he is, Coop lets it draw him in.
