Katsuki came into the world greedy for everything it had to give, and he selfishly drank up every bit of praise and admiration he could possibly get.
Like an ever-growing well his hunger grew, digging deeper and deeper the more he got. In his head, he was undefeated, and no one contradicted that thought so it became an undisputed fact.
The kids around him were too wimpy to stand up to him, all just saying that Katsuki would become the greatest hero.

Achilles barely reads the contract before he signs it.
He feels nothing as he is given the sigil representing that he is a servant of the House, a standard spear, and is made to stand guard in the west wing.
He can barely see what’s in front of him and he realises that he is crying. He didn’t know shades could cry.
He is safe. He is where he deserves to be. He doesn’t know whom he is referring to. Days—weeks?—pass, and Achilles does not know. He stands at his position, has to remind himself over and over to bow to anyone who approaches or passes by him.
