reread this for the first time in two years probably?! i could not put it down once i started and i genuinely cannot believe this fic exists. it’s insane and incredible and melodramatic and so fucking complicated and has multiple full physics equation pages and multiple counts of poetry reciting and a full few chapters dedicated to a trial straight out of ace attorney, and has katsuki telling izuku to chase him. above all else i think, it deals with the most ugly and disgusting parts of izuku and katsuki’s characters and their toxic, codependent relationship pushed to its breaking point, all for my depraved enjoyment.
on reread now that mha has ended, i Cannot believe this ends with Sensei Katsuki and Quirkless Hero Deku (with a prosthetic suit of armor no less!)!!! so interesting that shigaraki, toga, and dabi are the league’s survivors. so interesting that izuku loses his right arm, not katsuki. so interesting that katsuki is the UA teacher/all might successor, not izuku. i feel like this fic, in all it’s insanity and melodrama and heart, is in conversation with mha’s canon, walking parallel!! and i love it for that!!

He isn’t sure if that’s the word he’d assign to the other. Katsuki is like a glowing firecracker: bright, breathtaking, and quick to snap. Although, Izuku considers, he can be cute sometimes. Like every morning, when he tosses Izuku’s bento box into his face. Like when he rolls over into Izuku’s space on the bed and knees him in the stomach. Like how the space between his brows gets wrinkled whenever he gets absorbed into one of Izuku’s “shitty chick flicks,” creasing further in defiance when he’s caught.
(or: post-graduation, izuku struggles to cope with change. a reencounter, a roommate arrangement, and things become a bit more complicated—as always with bakugou katsuki involved)

He even sits in the car and juts out his lower lip in a pout to look as disinterested and unaffected as possible — “Thank you for being Shouto’s friend.”
And Katsuki looks at her smile and Izuku’s blushing cheeks and their intertwined hands and Todoroki’s cheerfully embarrassed face, and realizes like the stupid child he knows he is:
