Summary
Hancock quietly asks, “You sure you wanna do that? This mug ain’t a pretty sight.”
The insecurity doesn’t suit him, so instead of taking the route to an easy insult, Nate’s honest. “I like this mug.”
_____Hancock and Nate mix sex with feelings, and Nate has a transcendent experience.
This can be read as a stand alone, just be sure to read the note at the beginning. It’s an extended cut of a scene from the first work in the series.

Summary
Without looking up, Hancock says, “Make yourself at home.”
For a moment, Nate thinks he might actually show some restraint and walk back out the way he came. But, as usual, his self-control unravels like a cheap sweater and he throws himself on the couch opposite Hancock, forgoing a ‘hello’. He must want him here if he got that invitation, but he still hasn’t looked up from his ledger, and it’s bothering Nate more than he'd like to admit.
__________Nate stops by the Old State House and gets down to business. Hancock shows him the benefits of taking it slow.
I’m calling this character-driven smut.
This is readable as a stand alone. It's a deleted scene from the first work with a little more plot and a lot more sex.

Summary
When he pulls back, Hancock lets him go easily, opening his legs with a grin when Nate drops to his knees and starts undoing his pants. He laces his fingers behind his head and says, “Well ain’t you full of surprises.”
___________After Pickman Gallery, Nate makes a move on Hancock. They get to know each other (in the biblical sense).
This is an extended cut of a scene from the first work in this series with a little plot, but mostly it's sex.
It should be readable as a stand alone.

Summary
“I don’t need anything- there’s nothing wrong with me! I’m fine!” He’s shouting now.
Hancock takes a deep breath, closing his eyes. When he opens them he says, “You can’t keep going like this, you’re gonna destroy yourself.”
Nate laughs harshly, there’s no joy in the sound. “Who cares! Who fucking cares what-“
“I care, asshole!” Hancock cuts him off.

Summary
Before the world ends, it frays.
In 2075 Boston, Operation Winter's End should have been a clean strike at a dirty man. Instead, ADA Georgia Ambrose and Detective Nick Valentine walk straight into a knot of missing evidence, stalled warrants, and federal backing that looks a lot more like a setup than support.
The deeper they go, the less the case looks like justice—and the more it looks like a system already rotting through to the frame. Somewhere in that wreckage, Georgia and Nick start circling each other in ways neither of them should.Winter's Grip is the first year of the unraveling: the deaths, the betrayals, and the fault lines that won't stop spreading.

Pre-war detective story
Incredibly interesting premise, very good writing, keeps you on the edge of your seat.
Already worthy of a re-read ❤️
