    “You’re in the hospital,” she says. “You were in a traffic accident, and–"

    “No, I heard that. But–” Wei Ying glances at the extremely pretty man, who’s just staring at him, completely still. His empty hands hover in the air. “I don’t need anyone to take care of me. I just wanna go home."

    “You are going home,” Yanli reaches over and tucks his hair behind his ear, giving him a tiny smile. “Don’t worry. Just a few more scans, and then Lan Zhan can take you back."

    “Who’s Lan Zhan?” he asks.

    The pretty man by his side inhales so sharply Wei Ying feels the air get sucked out of the room.

    Wei Ying gets in a traffic accident and loses six years of his memories, including meeting and marrying the love of his life. This is the story of how he falls back in love with Lan Zhan: quickly, and inevitably.

    Or, my take on one of my favorite tropes.

    Something smells so good. Wei Ying closes his eyes, already feeling sleepy, and tries to identify where the scent is coming from. He turns his face to one side and then the other, chasing it, until his nose touches Lan Zhan’s cheek.

    He pulls back quickly, not freaking out, because it’s fine. He touched Lan Zhan’s cheek with his nose, and Lan Zhan smells really fucking good, and they’re lying down together on a very soft bed because Lan Zhan is too drunk to let go of him, and Lan Zhan is gay but Wei Ying isn’t, and it’s fine.

    Wei Ying swallows hard and closes his eyes again.

    Wei Ying helps Lan Zhan out of an uncomfortable situation, and they grow close right away, becoming instant friends. To Lan Zhan, they become instant something else. With time, they only get closer and closer, and Wei Ying is forced to deal with his own feelings about Lan Zhan, and his perception of his own sexuality.

    Lan Wangji invites Wei Wuxian to come with him to Disneyland for the weekend, a prospect which delights Wei Wuxian for two reasons: first, because the idea of the stoic and unflappable Lan Wangji at Disneyland is too good to pass up; and second, because Wei Wuxian has been in love with Lan Wangji for years. Despite what everyone else thinks, Wei Wuxian is sure it’s not a date, no matter how much he wishes it was, but he’s determined to enjoy this weekend alone with Lan Wangji anyway.

    “Ah, sorry, Lan Zhan,” he says, teasing. “I know you don’t like to be touched.” He elbows him good naturedly, turning to make his way to the exit, but stops when Lan Wangji places a tentative hand on his shoulder.

    “It is alright.”

    Wei Wuxian blinks. “Huh?”

    “I do not mind.” Lan Wangji stares at him, his eyes wide and sincere. Are his ears red again? Cute. “I do not mind… when you touch me.”

    Lan Zhan agrees to come along and pretend that they are in a relationship for the long weekend. Shenanigans ensue.
