After one suspiciously intimate Monaco yacht photo sends the internet into a frenzy, Alex jokingly suggests that he and Oscar should pretend to date for the rest of the race weekend.
Unfortunately, pretending involves hand-holding, hotel-room sharing, and confronting the deeply inconvenient fact that they might actually want each other very, very badly.

“Lando.”
“Mmm.”
“Lando, c’mon.”
“...’S stupid.”
“Fuckin’ hell, let me help you!” Oscar nearly snapped, exhaling sharply.
Lando finally peeked back over at him again, the one eye that was visible looking distinctly glassy. Not crying, but definitely in a… Different headspace than he’d been in a few minutes ago.
“Just- Jesus, okay, fine. Just promise you won’t freak out, or, like, quit McLaren or some shit. It’s not a big deal, like, you don’t have to say yes or anything,” he finally began explaining, immediately sending a pit of worry into Oscar’s stomach.
Why was he bringing up the team? What could possibly make him even start to consider quitting? Oscar's mind raced with every possible explanation of what he could be about to ask him, but he kept his face as neutral as possible in an effort to not freak him out more than he clearly already was.

Lando starts to spiral after his DNF in Monaco, and asks Oscar for a favour to help clear his head.
