Jack blinked…and then managed to coherently say, “You…you’re on night shift? Since when?”Whitaker looked up at him with those wide, bluer-beyond-blue eyes of his and quipped, “As of right now, it looks like. I mean, I got the shift change notification a little over a week ago. They gave me the last six days off to adjust my sleep schedule, and now I’m here…” His voice trailed off a bit as he stood and adjusted his scrubs, which looked to be slightly big on him.
“…that’s not gonna be a problem, is it? …Dr. Abbot?”
(aka the fic where Robby lends Jack his favorite intern for the night shift when it becomes obvious that Jack needs some stress relief...but it turns into something that Jack never expected)

Summary
When Dennis starts his ER rotation at PTMC, and meets his new attending, his world is – metaphorically and literally – flipped upside down. Michael Robinavitch is tall and broad, yes, but more than that he’s confident and competent. He behaves around Dennis like he knows what to do with him better than Dennis himself. His touch, voice, stare – every single thing about Robby feels grounding.
Or: Dennis doesn't see himself fitting his own image of sub bottom, Robby makes a point to change it for better.

Robby sighed, attempting not to be frustrated, but it clearly showed. “I’ve known Jack for years. He’s stern, sure. He’s glared at assholes who deserve it, but he’s the most emotionally regulated guy I’ve ever worked with and ever met. He’s too contained to hate anyone.”
Whitaker swallowed hard. Robby bet that if he held his fingers to the boy’s pulse, it’d beat like a scared rabbit. “Okay?”
Robby scoffed and crossed his arms, losing all of his patience. “So what the hell happened while I was gone to make him look at you like that?”
OR
Robby returns from his sabbatical, alive and with a new attitude change, expecting the Pitt to be the same. It is, for the most part, but as the days pass by, he notices a new development—tension lingering between Dennis and Jack. And for some reason, they won’t tell him what happened when he was away.

Summary
Dennis believes in minor, harmless truths. Little white lies that save everyone around him from dealing with his existence.
But more omega patients start being admitted to the Pitt for the exact medication he's been using. His two alpha attendings keep asking questions they shouldn't be. He's starting to lose track of the lies as the threat of being known grows.
Or I succumb to peer pressure and write a secret Omega Dennis fic instead of growing a backbone.
