Summary
John MacTavish's family is made up of smiths, has always been and likely always will be. Problem being, they're the only smith shop for miles around, and so regular trips are made to surrounding areas to take orders and fill requests. This is usually fine. Usually.
Simon Riley lives in the woods and hunts. He makes his living tracking & trapping animals. This comes in handy when John's horse comes back without him just hours after he's left for a nearby village.

Summary
Johnny had drawn Ghost’s whole face approximately twenty-four times. Only one of those was anything close to resembling the real thing.
Now he's trying desperately to remember Ghost's features and immortalize them on paper, and also deal with the crushing weight of being in love with his superior.

Summary
Soap is used to taking blows to his pride -- he knows he talks too much, clutters the comms with his never-ending chatter. He's been told time and time again that he needs to shut his trap, to lower his voice, to stop bouncing his damn leg like an impatient child. It's never really bothered him much. He is used to it.
But when Ghost tells him to shut up, he doesn't exactly know why it hurts so damn much. Maybe he's being too sensitive. But he does shut up. He will do as he's told for once.
Even if it means life or death.

Summary
Being told to shut up always hurt. More than he suspected it should. Soap once had drunkenly apologized to Gaz for being such a loudmouth, and when Gaz insisted that everyone liked his friendly chattiness, Soap had literally flopped over him in relief and confessed that being told to shut up was like being kicked. No other insult or fight had the same effect on him.
Except, perhaps, being called useless.
