Wei Wuxian always thought being a rogue cultivator would be everything he dreamed of, and for a time after his exuplsion from Lotus Pier it was. The longer he traveled, the more inventions he came up with to help people only to be stonewalled by the barrier around the Cultivation World he was no longer apart of. So he concocted a plan, get his talismans and inventions presented at a Cultivation Confrence and get his foot back into the Cultivation World.
With his trusty dragon Suibian by his side, he knows there is nothing he can't do. Except maybe survive the long train ride to the confrence with Lan Wangji. -

There’s this Youtuber who goes by the name 'HanguangJun'. He’s mostly known for his beautiful piano covers and own compositions. One day, HanguangJun publishes a new cover video, in which he plays an absolutely heartbreaking rendition of Lady Gaga's "I'll Never Love Again".
The video title only says "For the Sun to my Moon."
His face is not visible; it never is in his videos, only his fingers while they dance over the keys. But the droplets of water landing on the ebony and ivory cannot be mistaken for rain.

It was almost a week later that Lan Zhan looked up to see a headline splashed across the paper Lan Huan was reading at the breakfast table declaring the mysterious death of one Mao Tian, a resident on the eighth floor of the high-rise where Lan Zhan had met Wei Ying. The accompanying picture was of the rude elevator-man. The murder happened the same day Lan Zhan had been there, maybe while he was in the building.
It was over a year later that Lan Zhan learned Wei Ying’s true purpose in the building that day and that he had deliberately detoured from his mission of murdering—assassinating—a corrupt accountant who had been laundering millions of tax payer dollars and funneling them into the offshore accounts of a major crime and drug syndicate. Lan Zhan was flattered in a guilty, stomach-twisting kind of way that Wei Ying had been so enthralled with him from that first moment to allow himself to be so distracted.
The knowledge didn’t make the fact that Wei Ying was now dead any easier to live with.
For nearly ten years, Lan Wangji believed his lover and the father of his child was dead.
Then, the impossible happened.
