But they've been apart longer than they were together and the hurt has grown blunt with time. The love hasn't.

Summary
What once was lost may yet be found.
Clambering down next to her and getting grass stains on his jeans that his dad will yell about later, he then tucks himself against her side. He places the photo on her chest. She takes it between her fingers and studies it for a long moment—she doesn't breathe the entire time—then lets it flutter to the grass, like it's too heavy for her to keep holding.
He asks why she's never worn the coat from the photo before, because it's the prettiest thing he's ever seen. She exhales, long and low and unbearably sad, and says that she doesn't know where it is. She tells him that his dad took it from her a long time ago and hid it. She's never been able to find it, no matter how hard she looks.

Summary
Maybe he's the pivot or the hinge or the fulcrum on which the lever of this delicate and beautiful life they've all made together turns.
Or maybe he's just himself. Does it matter?
Everyone left; Buck stayed.
Years later a grudge is held, a secret is revealed, and a kid comes out.

Bookmarker's Notes
"Circumstances were different," he says. "If it makes you feel any better I didn't actually take her in the air."
"No shit?"
He shakes his head. "I let her sit up front and then mimed doing the controls, but we were on the tarmac the whole time."
"She said you guys hit a bird."
Tommy snorts. "If we hit a bird we would've crashed and died," he says. "Tell her I let you drive the Miata. I'll take a picture of you in it."
It's a fair trade-off. That car's fucking fancy.

Evan throws himself at Tommy, kissing him, and Tommy lifts him again. This time, Evan’s legs go around his hips, and Tommy smiles against his lips. It’s a real happily ever after kiss, it’s the kiss before the credits roll, but the movie doesn’t end. He gets to do this again and again.

Summary
Suddenly, a man was up in his face. ”Can I hug you?”
”Uh, sure,” Buck said.
The guy nearly knocked him off his feet. As Buck wrapped his arms around him, he hissed, ”Be my boyfriend.”
”What?”
”Guy behind me won't take a hint.”
”Hi, baby,” Buck said loudly. ”I couldn't find you! Have you been here long?”

”Hey.”
”Hey,” Boyfriend leaned in a little closer.
”Would you tell me your name, if I asked?”
”I would,” he smiled. ”Are you gonna ask me?”
Buck bit his lip. ”Not yet.”
