“I… what… who…” he stammered.
Rose smiled sweetly. “Tall. Russian. Smirks a lot. Looks like he could break hearts professionally.”
Shane’s face turned red. Then redder. Then a deep, tragic shade of humiliation.
“I…” He covered his face. “Oh my god.”
“Ilya Rozanov,” Rose continued. “Ring any bells?”
Shane made a noise that was somewhere between a groan and a whimper.
“I’m going to disappear now.” he muttered.

“I googled it, you spent too much money,” Shane said.
“Cheapest car I have ever bought,” Ilya dismissed.
It wasn’t. He had splurged for every single extra, wanting Shane to be as safe and comfortable as possible. And Svetlana had been the one to sell to him, so she got a hefty commission bonus from him.
“You spent –”
“I don’t want you sliding around the roads in the fucking snow, Hollander,” Ilya said, regretting the snippiness in his voice.
Shane took a deep breath. Ilya prepared himself for a fight, for another smart ass comment –
“Thank you, Ilya,” Shane said instead, his voice soft.
Ilya blinked, sitting up in bed for the first time since he woke up. “You’re not going to fight with me?”
“Not about this,” Shane said. “You wanted me to be safe.”
Ilya sighed and threw himself back down against his sheets. “Don’t make this a big deal.”
“Because you love me,” Shane said softly.
“Yes, Shane,” Ilya agreed. “Because I love you.”
