Summary
When a dragon appears near Winterfell, most assume it to be an ill omen.
The winged beast seems a wild one, but it comes not alone. Like a shadow, it follows a young omega of dark curls and fine features, a strange southron boy of uncertain birth with an uncommon resistance to fire and a fascination for potions.
Even before he learns his name, Cregan takes a liking to him. He feels compelled to protect this baseborn omega he has taken under his roof, and he soon discovers dragons are easier to fear from afar.

Summary
The war is done, the price for peace is paid in blood. With Rhaenyra's execution and the dissolution of the Blacks comes a new dawn of desperate solicitudes and hasty betrothals, a last attempt to heal severed ends. Few dragons remain, and fewer riders live to tell the tale. Burnt and bruised, the Realm and its people must now brace for a harsh winter.
Aemond, gone from his seat at Dragonstone for over a moon's turn to put an end to The Red Kraken's raids, has yet to marry and mate his nephew, much to the Royal Council's displeasure and unrest.
Meanwhile Jacaerys, battered with loneliness and grief put afresh once the last of his brothers are dispatched to King's Landing as wards, flees to the cold and distant embrace of the North.
Can a match of fire made in grief ever not die cold?
Or;
Greens win and omega Jace is betrothed to his alpha uncle Aemond, but the loser takes too long (7 months) to claim him so Jace runs to hot northern alpha Cregan instead. Rumours arise across the realm and well, Aemond is not known to share :D

Aemond has to admit that the Blackwood boy isn't an easy opponent. Clearly Benjicot has trained his whole life to become a fearsome knight. He would have made a fine kingsguard, had he not been the heir to his house. He would have been a good and loyal sworn protector for Jacaerys.
And that mere thought makes Aemond boil with anger.
