Tai didn’t really believe in Lottie’s woo-woo forest bullshit, but if anyone deserved it’s protection it was Van. And so far Lottie’s woo-woo forest bullshit had worked on Van – she’d survived a plane crash, an explosion, wolves, a funeral pyre. She could survive a card draw. Van drew her card with unfamiliar solemness (lately it had been a bit more familiar). Her eyes went wide and her lips pressed in a thin line as she flipped the card to the group with shaking hands. The Queen.
