    “Clark!” Dick left Bruce's side for the first time since entering the building, racing over to hug onto the leg of a man only a few inches taller than Bruce himself.

    “Richard Grayson, my favorite classroom helper!” Clark patted Dick on the head with a grin that could rival the young boy's. The man's gaze lifted, his wide blue eyes blinking owlishly at Bruce before clearing his throat and extending a hand for him to shake. “You must be Mr. Wayne. Dick's told me nothing but good things, of course.”

    Bruce glanced down, noticing his wrist. Bare, untouched by phantom ink. His own wrist twitched subtly behind his back before he brought both hands in front of him, tugging the end of his sleeve down further over chicken-scratch handwriting scrawled across his skin before taking his hand to shake firmly. “Then you must be Mr. Kent. Dick speaks highly of you, as well.”

Exactly how it had been before Metallo put a bullet in it - which, actually, Clark thought was a pretty careless use of Kryptonite, but he wasn’t complaining - except.
