“Hey,” he says. He pokes Luke’s shoulder. “Hey. Look. It’s that Mark kid.”
Luke lifts his head. “What the f- oh. Wow. He looks like he’s been through a blender.”
Sure does. There’s bruises purpling all along the side of Mark’s face and there’s a band-aid slapped haphazardly across his nose. Pair all that with the pronounced limp in his step, and you’ve got what appears to be a walking, talking punching bag.
“Wonder who did that to him,” Luke says.
