Summary
To her surprise after a moment his features cleared and a faint look of bewilderment settled on them; he pulled at his coat again and she realised he had started to shiver, fingers shaking as they tried to grip the fabric. “Doctor, are you all right?”
“I don’t know… it’s a bit…. bit cold, isn’t it?” His voice was suddenly trembling too, and he shook his head as if trying to clear it. “Funny… I hadn’t – hadn’t noticed before…”
“He’s not all right.” Hastily sobering Alex caught hold of his grandfather’s arm as the older man staggered and his eyes widened in shock. “Cass, he’s freezing!”
Cass pressed the back of her hand to the Doctor’s cheek, recoiling almost immediately at the chill she found there. “Oh, my – he’s like ice! How can he be that cold? It’s not possible - ”
When the Doctor miscalculates his ability to deal with an alien toxin, Alex has to step up to the plate to help his great-grandad. With Cass’s assistance, of course.

Something exploded across her vision and she fell backwards to catch herself on the side of the bed, her ears ringing. “What was that?” she moaned, cradling her head, which felt as though it was going to split apart. A touch on her arm made her jump and she glanced up, almost surprised to see the Doctor there, his blue eyes wide and startled. She blinked, and the pain in her head was suddenly gone, her vision back to normal. “I don’t - What was it?”
There was a peculiar expression on his face, one she couldn’t identify. “I don’t know.”
