  Summary

  It was all temporary. Every chapter of your life, of Kunlun, of solarians as a whole, of whatever they originated from in the first place. A star inevitably burns out; a tree eventually withers and dies, no matter how large or powerful it grows. This lack of permanence frightened you, once. You clung to the only kind of power you knew, in a desperate attempt to understand, to know control, to make your mark on an everlasting world, because what meaning was there in the face of impermanence?

  An eternity spans the moments before the Rhizomatic Arrow is fired. Yi has never seen more clearly.

  Summary

  It was something he’d tentatively accepted as fact– that animation was not possible in the Outernet, and any creative tools, as powerful and versatile as they were, could only make inanimate objects. Infinitely useful, yes, but some crucial element was missing to allow true animation.

  Oh, he had his theories. But they're exactly why this doesn't make any sense.
