Summary
Jimin hasn’t known a good night’s sleep in years. His reality is a blur of exhausting retail shifts and wide-awake dawns counting down the hours until his next alarm. There is only one place where his body finally surrenders to rest: the gentle, hypnotic hum of an engine on the road. As luck would have it, he doesn’t drive, and using boyfriends for free rides is a terrible long-term strategy.
Until one endless night, a glitch or a miracle delivers a fifty percent off Uber coupon to his phone. Desperate for a cure, Jimin requests a chaotic, sixty-kilometer trip across Seoul, expecting it to be rejected. Instead, the ride is accepted by the only driver crazy enough to take the bait.
Jeongguk arrives in nine minutes.
“Good evening, Jimin-nim. What a funny coincidence to be your driver again.” Jeongguk’s voice filled the car, warm and familiar, as if Jimin were always meant to be there.“Good evening, Jeongguk-nim. The code is 8695.” Jimin paused to click his seatbelt into place, the metallic snap sounding loud in the quiet interior. “Do you believe in coincidences? My mother always called it fate.”
