Summary
It is the unfortunate nature of kings that they all eventually tend to die, and the unfortunate nature of princelings that when given any opportunity to make good decisions, they tend to invoke gruesome wars of succession and then immediately die of typhoid. This is one of many reasons Sabo finds monarchies poorly-managed, and why he tends to dedicate his time to deposing them.
This is also why he finds himself in the castle of the aging King Newgate in a corset, three skirts, and a whole lot of padding, lying his skinny ass off and trying to find out if the crown prince is going to turn out a megalomaniac.
He turns out to be much worse than that.
Alpha Sabo disguises himself as an omega handmaid to investigate Prince Marco's intentions with the crown. This backfires on him spectacularly.

Grace finished his math and flitted his eyes over the formulas, checking for errors. The result had him pretty confident that Rocky would wake up before it was too late to check out the anomalous blip. Satisfied, he acknowledged the alert and silenced it for the next six hours. Mary would only re-alert him if something new appeared or the blip suddenly changed trajectory or speed.
Grace flopped back in the pilot chair and looked over at the window in the side of the cockpit. It pointed in the same direction as the cupola downstairs, and Grace found himself staring at the binary stars again. A bright blue-white dwarf and its dimmer red-gold mate, quietly dancing and switching sides every few days as they orbited their primary star together. The odd pair. The dancing couple.
As far as Grace knew, they were reflecting off the retinas of the only creature who could sense light within about 15 light years.

The melody gets a little clearer when he breaks out of the trees, and Jingyi changes course with certainty, barreling down the back hill and through the Cloud Recesses, dodging scandalized disciples left and right. He throws open the doors to the Receiving Hall without announcement and bows nearly double, eyes on the floor instead of on the shocked faces of the Mei delegation and the impenetrable gaze of the Chief Cultivator.
"Forgive this disciple," Jingyi shouts, because he's going to get punished for rule breaking regardless. "From the back hill, Hanguang-jun, there is a song in the wind!"
Lan Jingyi comes of age.
