Summary
Estinien, who ought to have been born a prince but was instead cursed to be born a wyrmling, finds one single friend after he is cast outside of Ishgard’s walls: an orphaned shepherd boy who, for a time, takes him in, feeds him, and curls up beside him to sleep.
More than a decade later, after Estinien has grown into a full fledged wyrm, he still remembers well his shepherd boy—though he knows not where he went or what became of him after their sudden separation. Bitter and lonely, he scours Ishgard’s countryside with flames in his hunt to find his long lost friend.
To stop the wrathful dragon wreaking havoc on his kingdom, the young Prince Hamignant is willing to consider even the unorthodox. And when he learns that Estinien’s blighting of the heartlands is all in search of a single man, a (nearly) bloodless solution comes to mind: make a sacrifice of this once-a-shepherd in the hopes of placating the dragon and sating his appetite, whatever form it may take.

Summary
Burdened with immortality and twisted into a beastly shape by Nidhogg's final curse after using gifts stolen from Ratatoskr to slay their kind, Estinien has hid beneath the aetherial tempest surrounding Ishgard for ages. Using the ravaging abyss to deafen himself to the world of man above that he helped to shape, nothing has roused him for centuries. That is, until he is stirred by the impossible: the voice of his long-dead lord. Spurred into flight for the first time in nearly a millennia, Estinien finds himself interrupting the banishment and judgment of accused heretic Aymeric de Borel, a man identical to his love from another lifetime but now spared the same fate.
But what purpose could this second chance serve? Estinien has long abandoned hope of being freed from his curse, unable to die at mortal hands and bound by the magic of dragons long gone from this world. Yet while he understands this Aymeric is not the same prince he knew, served, and loved, he is unable to refuse when the earnest young man makes a request that echoes his past and winds up learning just what has become of the kingdom of man.

Summary
It simply reminded him of his housecat, who had been prone to scratching him when he tried to pet her at first. It took a lot of patience and food bribing to get her to be comfortable in his presence and he thinks that Estinien too, with a lot of patience and mayhap a little… food would grow to be less standoffish towards him.
Aymeric befriends a cat.

Summary
Estinien knocks twice on the door to Aymeric’s chambers but does not wait for an answer before striding inside. He receives quite the surprised expression for his troubles.
“Oh?” Aymeric promptly sets his book down; it is only after having the opportunity to examine his visitor that he relaxes again. "How curious. And who is this surly-faced servant, come to bring me my breakfast?"
Estinien comes to tell Aymeric about his vision and urges him to prepare for Nidhogg's attack.
