Summary
Scoffing, Kaveh mumbles, “Is there anything you don’t know, oh great Scribe?”
His hands play with the hem of the shirt before slipping underneath to find the bare skin of Kaveh’s toned abdomen. Alhaitham knows of the stars and the blood-stained past of their land. He knows of legends, myths, and truths. He knows of archons and devils. Alhaitham is a wise man with extensive knowledge on many things and he has never been shy to show it.
“If only you knew how little I know about the things that matter."
or, Kaveh sought out warmth on cold nights and it turned into something more.

Summary
So how could he not feel fulfilled, laying there with the love of his life cradled in his arms? His mirror, his best friend, his equal. Kaveh, looking all disheveled, filling the room with his elated scent of mourning flowers with a subtle hint of coffee—pampering Alhaitham’s senses in the most intoxicating way.
Archons, he adored this man.
Which was why, when Kaveh finally lifted his head, gaze averted, and whispered his next question, Alhaitham didn’t think twice before responding.
“What do you think about mating?”
“Mating?” Alhaitham let out a small snort, offering a shrug. “I don’t see the purpose. It’s just a biological whim to unnecessarily tie someone down to another person and surrender to societal norms and expectations.”Little did he know how that warmth he basked himself in so far would vanish in an instant.

Summary
Kaveh is so, so beautiful. It’s a thought that rolls around his head like a marble, constantly circling the drain of his spine. He feels it as deeply as a wound. Alhaitham wants to sweep that soft hair out of his eyes, kiss a trail from his hip to his ankle, trace over the bridge of his nose. He wants to stay when they’re done, he wants to wake up and pull Kaveh to his chest, he wants, wants, wants.
It’s some sick kind of torture, being so greedy for something within reach, unable to keep it. To watch Kaveh’s eyelids flutter with a soft touch, just before steeling again. To watch him want something Alhaitham is desperate to give, and be refused every time.
Kaveh's life is on a downward spiral. In an attempt to drag himself out of this pit of romantic stress and creative flatline, Kaveh takes a commission to restore a dilapidated settlement in the desert. Just a little time to think, that's all.

Summary
Kaveh swallows again, thinking of the thickness in his throat and the wine turned sour on his tongue. He just has to pretend to be asleep until he hears his door close, and then he can sit up and enjoy the fruits of Alhaitham’s particular brand of benevolence.
Alhaitham stops moving. He had to be close, though. Kaveh can hear his shallow breathing, can almost sense the weight of Alhaitham’s eyes on him.
“Kaveh,” Alhaitham whispers, then, and Kaveh almost sits up, almost admits that he is awake, except then Alhaitham’s warm hand settles on Kaveh’s bare ankle and the feeling of his heat freezes Kaveh in place.

Alcohol makes Kaveh a particularly heavy sleeper. Usually. Alhaitham isn't above taking advantage of that fact.

Summary
A lack of communication, a misplaced suspicion, and two Akasha terminals mixed with a drunken tinkering and nosy Kshahrewar architect create an accidental problem about to wreak absolute havoc upon Alhaitham and Kaveh's lives.
Little did Kaveh realize, he managed to create a link between the two devices. And not simply one to transfer data. Oh, no. It was far deeper of a connection than that.
A junior's repressed intense sexual desires, deliberate miscommunication, and a senior's priorly trampled feelings all eventually become known in the worst ways.
After all, the risks of the Akasha could be worsened with tampering. It was a device that worked directly on the brain.
And Kaveh had just unknowingly linked Alhaitham and his own Akashas, and minds, together in a way that was about to be absolute torture to their already turbulent relationship.
