Summary
Shane Hollander is realizing that the thing about love is not that it comes all at once, but it arrives in bits and pieces.
He and Ilya have these two weeks tucked away in the cottage, only them. It's the most time they've ever spent together, and it's wonderful. It is everything Shane could have dreamed of when he invited Ilya to the cottage. But nothing prepared him for how it feels to finally be able to whisper i love you into the crook of Ilya's shoulder each morning when they wake up, sun rising gently above the lake, nor how Ilya has seemingly not yet tired of it and whispers it back to him while stroking his hand along Shane's jaw. So really it's more than Shane ever possibly hoped for; it's more than he even knew he could hope for.
