Summary
Aune wakes on a ravaged beach with little more than an illithid tadpole, an intimate knowledge of spore magic, and a treacherous Dark Urge occupying her mind. She embarks on a journey to find answers, alongside a number of other similarly troubled individuals — including one Pale Elf who seems to know a little too much. As Aune faces recovered memories and figures from her past, she fears that the Urge is not a force that possesses, but is simply Her. She finds both solace and fatal temptation in Astarion; to be expected, as two sides of the same coin. Only time will tell if the two are able to break the bonds that imprison them, or will only drag each other down to places darker still.

“Uh-huh.” Rook closes her book and puts it aside. “What’s wrong with it?”
“It’s like I can’t get a feel for it. At all.” She gets up from her chair, hoping that maybe a switch from horizontal to vertical can also become a switch from the stuck-state to a flow-state.
Doesn’t help. Still worth trying.
“If you are out of practice, why not get some?” Rook asks.
“Where?” She blinks. “I don’t think there are places where you can get practice kisses from strangers. Well, actually, there are, maybe. But I wouldn’t know.”
“Never heard about those, personally.” Rook shrugs. “But I’m right here.”
When Belllara gets stuck on writing a kiss scene for her story, Rook kindly offers her help.
