"And do you know what the current year is?"
Yuuji shakes his head. "For me it's 2018."
"True," Tsukauchi writes it down. "Currently, the year is 2XXX."
Now it's Yuuji's turn to stare. He knows he's not in Kansas anymore, has met and fought and helped people who look straight out of a comic book. He's learned this, processed it, accepted it- but a simple date is enough to shake that acceptance.
After a long moment of silence between them Yuuji finally caves, rubbing at his eyes with his cuffed hands. "So I'm either way into the future or in another world entirely."
or: Yuuji gets caught in a trap that pulls him out of the colony and out of his world entirely. Alone with only his sensei trapped in the prison realm, Yuuji must find a way home as soon as possible.

It was snowing, ironically, as Sans gazed down at the rough stone. It was pretty much shapeless, as all his creations were. Their name was etched in as hard as he could, with lines too jagged and letters uneven. It was hard to concentrate and keep things even when he was a sobbing mess.

"What?" Adrian says after a tense moment.
"I can prove it to everyone," Grace says, his heart in his throat. "I'll - I'll make you and Rocky the most celebrated couple on Erid. I promise."
"Stupid human," Adrian hisses. "You would give up your chance for him just like that?"
"Yes," Grace says hoarsely.
"Anything for him."

Summary
Whatever happened here was bad. Irrevocably, inexplicably, inarticulably bad in a way that the most basal parts of his being wants nothing more than to escape from. But Grace can't turn away.
After encountering what appears to be a last hoo-ra emergency mission attempt from Earth caught up in the Hail Mary's wake, Grace and Rocky discover a single, severely injured human being quite literally encased in what Grace can only describe as a crime scene. A horror movie. And when he wakes up? He's mad. Really mad. Talking to the walls mad. Now they have to figure out just where he came from and why. Things are further complicated when all the newcomer (Simon, they learn) can talk about is missing planets, haunted oceans, and non-existent space stations. That and the really weird data they've been picking up on.
Maybe part of solving that is, much to Rocky's enthusiasm; both Grace and Simon slowly realizing how lonely they are.Series
