Summary
The first spark between Max and Charles is in 2019, in England, but the real turning point comes in Belgium. "I have no idea what you are talking about Seb." Charles can feel how red his cheeks and neck get in a matter of seconds but decides to double down anyways. "We're just friends is that so hard to believe?"
"No. I'm glad you worked it all out after years of moping around the garage and making me listen to your whines about how annoying Max is and how you can't stand his stupid face and his stupid hair and all that bullshit you keep lying to yourself with" He's smiling now and Charles knows he's not half as annoyed as he's amused. "But the way you two absolute idiots look at each other makes it clear to me. Others might not see it but I've been around long enough to recognise all of it"
"I-..." Charles is at a loss for words for the first time in his life.
OR: I'm bad at summaries and this is basically Charles and Max being idiots to lovers while navigating life, coming out, Charles changing teams and Christian Horner being the opposite of what he actually is since we need at least one supportive team principal.
