— Your Ozness, I came to fetch you to make an appearance at the ball. Madame Morrible has it all set up, and the crowd are waiting. But the guards tell me there’s a goat on the run? I’m sure you can-- — Glinda rushed in saying, but stopped in her steps as soon as she saw the scene before her.
— E-Elphie? — Was all that she could say, astonished by what her eyes showed her.
Elphaba looked just as shocked, seeing Glinda in a pink and blue bubbly iridescent wedding dress, holding a wand made out of bubbles and crystals.
— Glinda? — She said, her voice almost escaping her, until the two guards suddenly pointed their weapons at her."Or,

"— Glinda! — A woman fought her way to the front of the crowd. A familiar face, but Glinda couldn’t remember from where, or who she was.
— Yes? — The witch asked, growing impatient.
— Is it true… You were her friend?
The word hit Glinda like a thousand blows. The Quadlings reprimanded the girl, for suggesting such a ludicrous thing, but when Glinda didn’t immediately deny, they grew quiet, and murmurs overtook the crowd.
Friend. What a word. Glinda the Good guessed one could certainly define her relationship with the Wicked Witch of the West as such. But it seemed so simple, so reductive. What they had, she and Elphaba, was so much more. She thought their relationship was such that not a single soul in Oz would be able to understand it.
Then she found the little girl again, in the middle of the crowd.
If this was to be a new dawn for Oz, she should at least try to explain it."Or, Glinda, the Witch of the South, remembers her relationship to the Wicked Witch of the West as all of Oz cheers on her lover's apparent death. “Elphaba,” Glinda said, her jaw bobbing up and down uselessly. “What did you do?”
She said it as more of a statement than a question because she knew. She could see it quite plainly, the Wizard’s body slumped over on the cold marble floor.
“I didn’t mean to,” Elphaba said. “I mean, I kind of wanted to, but I didn’t know what I was doing.”
Glinda’s eyes narrowed into something judgmental, but honestly not nearly angry enough considering Elphaba had just committed a murder, an assassination at that–-but suddenly there were footsteps. Elphaba paused like a deer in headlights, but Glinda grabbed the Wizard’s feet and dragged him quickly back over to the perch behind the curtain.
“Don’t just stand there. Help me!”

what if elphaba accidentally killed the wizard when she went to free the monkeys lmao
