Summary
Renee knew Witt to be a kind man, a respectable man in the four years she had known him. He had not balked or questioned or demanded anything of her when the voices overwhelmed her, when she had to abruptly leave the conversation or the vicinity entirely to compose herself. He put himself in the way of nosy would-be interlopers, running interference, congenially turning away onlookers for her, protecting her reputation with well-practiced smiles.
And yet, she held back. She was afraid of exactly that kindness, that affable earnestness that he would request for others’ ‘help’ on her behalf. All well-meaning, yet utterly life-ruining.

Summary
In the end, with a small hand in his, the world shatters into an infinite white.
But to his dismay, he opens his eyes and he’s still intact. Unfairly, cruelly whole and well and un-gommaged.
Looking down at his hands, un-scarred and immaculate. His clothes, clean and unstained. He could not die, Aline had seen to it, that he will live on in spite of the dissolution of Verso's canvas.
A mother's love can be cruel like that.

Summary
“Do you enjoy dancing, Mr. Nox?” Mr. Brinkman springs upon Alexander one day as he watches the ominous clouds rolling in through the bay windows, threatening their morning hunt.
“I’m afraid I have very little experience or inclination towards it.” Alexander murmurs distractedly, taking another sip of his earl grey tea as he turns a page in his book.
Mr. Brinkman looks up from his breakfast, astounded. “But that would not do! You are not but twenty and four, surely your mind must be filled with nothing but dances as of late.”
The older man shakes his head as he stands up, taking one last sip of his tea before he extends a hand towards the door out to the Grand Hall. “Come, come, it is not suitable for young men to be ignorant of one of life’s most ardent pleasures of dancing with pretty ladies. Your instruction must begin at once.”

Summary
“For the record, you really shouldn’t have punched him.”
Ming-han scoffs, looking over at Pang-yu as he takes a seat next to his ghost husband. “Dude, your ex sucked, what you saw in him, I’ll never understand.”
“I meant on principle, as a police officer. He could definitely get your department in hot water if he called up a news studio and said some random policeman came to his house and beat him up.”
Ming-han hisses, finally realizing the ramifications. “Oh yeah, oh crap.”

Summary
You are torn, bulbous, monstrous. An abomination that should have been left to die on that raft, a living tribute to horror at its best and worst. You are many, many things, but as Sinclair points out, you are not alone. Never alone. Sinclair/Delta slash.
