Summary
Done, done, done!
This is a personal request from a fan, Katrinna Le Fay (yes, I do requests; sometimes it takes awhile, though).
Jim and Spock meet as children. Jim's mother is absent; his caretakers are abusive. Sarek and Amanda rescue their son's friend and raise the boys together. They discover they are t'hy'la and are bonded. Spock goes to Earth to join Starfleet; Jim goes with him.
This will be sort-of Abrams, with a dash of AU mixed in. for example, I'm not killing off Amanda. Enjoy.

Miguel tried to remind Mamá Coco. He tried to remind her of who she had forgotten. And in the end, a lullaby from her childhood managed to spark her memory. She remembered her papá and even shared stories with the rest of her family, ensuring that they would remember him as well.
But it was too late. She had forgotten for a moment too long. And Héctor was already gone.
But Miguel promised that he would see Coco. He promised.

Summary
Over on Tumblr we end up writing a LOT of extra mini scenes and backstory for the au that aren't quite one-shots or aren't quite prose, but are still important and fun to read.
By popular request, we're going to start assembling this collection of misc here in this fic, adding them on as multiple small chapters so all these small bits don't get lost in the depths of our Tumblr archives forever.

Summary
Hector’s kid has been staying over at the apartment for months now, but Ernesto’s looking forward to finally having the place back to himself at the New Year. To help get him and Hector ready to get back in the game Ernesto’s had the fantastic, no, the SPECTACULAR idea to host a holiday networking fiesta at their apartment complex.
It’s going to be great, he’ll finally have the chance to help Hector loosen up a little, they’ll get to rub shoulders with some other musicians in the YouTube music industry, and if things go well they’ll even land some gigs Hector will finally have time to do once Miguel is gone. Everything will be perfect.
(This story takes place right before chapter 9 of the main timeline.)

Summary
Even though Hector didn't have siblings, he's always had two hermanos he could depend on: one a best friend, the other a trusted cousin.
But his relationships with Ernesto and Enrique have always pulled him in separate directions, one towards fame and glory, the other to family and responsibility.
[This is a flashback chapter takes place when Hector is 18, post high school, pre-university. It ties into the timeline of "Two Cokes," a different chapter here in the teacher au.]
