Summary
"You don't have to --"
"I know I don't." But Sherlock leaves anyway, spurred by equal parts anger and shame. He promises to be back in 30 minutes with the forgotten milk for Rosie's evening meal.
He does not return.
Later, John will think of that last glimpse of Sherlock's face, the tired hurt, the start of tears. He will think that maybe Sherlock has simply decided to be done with this, to be done with him.
Still, maybe he'd better call Greg, see if anyone's caught a glimpse of the man. Just in case.
Across town, Sherlock plots escape but hopes for rescue, trapped in a situation that he cannot talk his way out of.

Summary
"Which child minder?" Sherlock asks with an air of suspicion. "Not the same one you used last Tuesday, I hope. Rosamund doesn't like that insufferable woman, and who could blame her? Imagine, thinking someone of Watson's intellect would be duped by cheap parlour tricks and tomfoolery."
"... Sherlock, it's peek-a-boo. Everybody plays peek-a-boo with babies."
After moving back into 221B with Rosie, John discovers that Sherlock has been hiding a chronic health condition caused by John's attack on him in the morgue. Together they navigate the fallout, becoming a family in the process.

Summary
And his mind! It's like a plane crash, twisted, smoldering metal scattered for miles across a debris field, each bit of wreckage marked with a tiny evidence flag representing a separate bit of dread or guilt or pain -- or fear? -- all of it cracked loose from the same terrible occurrence.
There's a little girl in this hospital who is hurt because Sherlock failed. And at her side, there is a father who will never speak to him again.

Summary
“I’m- I can’t convince myself to commit to a longer stay,” Robby admits, frustrated by it. “It’d be better for actually getting somewhere with antidepressants, I know, but I feel like once I take away the work and the bike and everything else I do… there’s a clock on how long I can be naked like that. When it runs out, if I’m not back on the right side, I’ll get stuck as nothing, forever.” Robby drops his face into his hand. “Why does this sound like The Little Mermaid?” he moans.
“Is this the kind of place where they throw a black bag over your head and smash your SIM card, or can I still talk to you?” Jack asks.
~After a scare on his road trip, Robby does two weeks of inpatient care in Wisconsin... and you'll never guess who he uses his phone time on~

Summary
One of the elements of Sherlock Holmes that intrigues me - both in the ACD canon and the BBC series - is how Sherlock's disappearance and return are treated as no big deal. He disappears dramatically for significant periods of time, then swans back in as if he is completely unchanged by his time away. In the case of BBC, we know that Sherlock experienced psychological and physical trauma at least once, in Serbia. No matter how rational and logical a person you are, that has an impact. And watching your best friend - someone you live with, work with, have some sort of emotional connection with - fall to his presumed his presumed death is fucking traumatic as hell and while John's grief kind of gets addressed in canon, Sherlock's trauma gets entirely ignored. I wanted to explore what recovery might look like for them. Mary is a good person here, Irene has a relatively minor role at least in the third of the story written so far.
