Galpin sat back in his chair. “My apologies, I simply wished to have more time to prepare the house for visitors. I am a bachelor who inherited it from a bachelor. I fear it suffers from a lack of a feminine touch.”
“Femininity is not what the house lacks. It wants to breathe. You’ve suffocated and stuffed away all its interesting parts.”
The humor returned to Galpin’s face, and he relaxed. “I forgot who I was talking to. You like the house then?”
“It has a good foundation. I’m sure the more I see of it, the more I will find to admire.”

Ajax didn’t like hurting people. He lived every day doing everything he could not to slip up and stone someone. The idea of looking at his friends and turning them into stone was one of his worst nightmares.
He would learn that there were worse things to worry about the hard way.

Xavier kidnapped Wednesday, Ajax, and Bianca and things escalated to the point where turning to stone may not have been the worst thing to happen to you. Ajax would do anything to protect his friends, and he was about to prove it.
