She could not respond, did not know what to say in the face of his declaration. Brown eyes searching his face for...something, she was not sure.

Neither Alphinaud nor Alisaie deserved the harsh treatment their father cast down on them that day in Gridania. Their only wish had been to protect the people they loved from harm and their desire to do so was met with the scorn and cruelty and had left both twins in an increasingly dour mood. Kinanna hoped the small surprise she had prepared for them would brighten their spirits and remind them that they were not alone.
