Summary
Beldaruit and Qifrey - and so naturally also Olruggio - over the years in the Great Hall. Also, for any interested parties, the middle scene is Qifrey coming home after the Tower of Tomes and all that entails. If that means nothing to you, I would not read this.

“Exactly.” Beldaruit sounds softer when he says, “kisses are a sign that two people are very close, or are interested in becoming very close. A parent might kiss their child on the head to soothe them, or the cheek to make them laugh. A friend, too, might kiss a cheek as a sign of affection.”
“Oh, so like Olly?” Qifrey brightens a little. It doesn’t sound so bad being that close to Olly, although the lips bit still sounds pretty disgusting.

Qifrey meant to say he was fine, that he was just remembering their days as apprentices, that Agott was settling in well, or even that Olly was so good with her.
What he actually said was, “What if she drowns in the bath?”
