“Well?”
“Oh careful,” a warm hand touched his neck, thumb under his jaw. “Careful,” lower, his pupils blown and entirely honed, breath soft on Sherlock’s cheeks.
There was something fixating, and equally intimidating, about James like this. At the edge of restraint.
Sherlock didn’t feel like being careful.

Modern AU. Sherlock (majored in law) and James (majored in mathematics) go to the same university. They minor in psychology and meet in lecture. They end up renting a flat together. Evelyn, Sherlock’s sister, stays over frequently. Along with her aloof boyfriend August. Naturally, they occupy Sherlock’s room for the duration, and so Sherlock sleeps in James's, where tension runs high, frequently. Increasingly.
