Not that they’d ever admit it – they’d sooner bite their tongues or bury the thought beneath years of silence and sharp remarks. But love like that doesn’t vanish. Not really. And maybe, if you look closely enough, it never ended at all.

Gordon didn’t enjoy Christmas as much as most people did. Sure, the presents were lovely, the songs were cheery, and he enjoyed seeing smiles on people’s faces. Once he had, with difficulty and meticulous planning, got gifts that people liked. His usual plan was to hang out with one person, an annual tradition which had ended without notice. So, Gordon didn’t have any plans. Until the phone rang. John Prescott was having a party, and he had invited Gordon, with a pleading tone. As mentioned, Gordon didn’t really like Christmas. He thought that as he mumbled a reluctant “sure.” down the phone line.

Summary
Emily and Hotch are re-connected once she starts at the BAU. Over time, while his marriage is falling apart and she is getting used to her new job there, they grow closer and struggle with figuring out how to be with each other. As their relationship progresses, they run into obstacles but always pull through in the end. Cute family and friends content included. Story has parts inside and outside of work at the BAU. Lots of smut later on included in this story.
