This was a curse. That was obvious enough, but…
The only curses that could induce ruts were lust curses delivered from demons themselves. Given that he’d gone to the wastelands, it was almost guaranteed that he’d run into such demons. And such curses would take a millennium to dissipate on their own, if fed with enough of the host’s mana. But… Many of the afflicted did not have such a luxury.
