    In the Shire there were two truths. The Tooks were odd and the Baggins were respectable. The Baggins family dealt in contracts and favours, and while the Shire knew that the Tooks were odd, it was the Baggins family that had other blood running through their veins.
    Bilbo Baggins did not go running out his door for want of an adventure, he went running out his door because of a terribly worded contract and a laughable quest that somehow held the spark of other.
    In this story, it is not the Tooks that held fae blood in their family tree, it is the Baggins, and theirs is so much closer to the surface.

    When Thorin dies in Bilbo's arms, Bilbo decides to retreat back to the Shire and leave his new life behind in the hopes of pretending none of this ever happened. Unfortunately, Bilbo is pregnant, and he never got around to telling anyone in the chaos of Thorin's madness. He finds that the Shire is far different than he remembers, or perhaps he has changed more than he thought, and raising a baby on his own while he has become something of a pariah is harder than he expected. Then, one day, very familiar dwarves show up on his doorstep, and reveal that Thorin was never actually dead. Now Bilbo is forced to come to terms with potentially reuniting with a love he thought he'd loss with a toddler who has no idea he even has another father. For the third time in a handful of years, Bilbo must decide whether or not to make the long journey across the horizon, and if he goes, is he willing to fight to regain what he lost?

    All it took was three years for Kaguya to destroy the world. Three-fucking-years. Naruto lost everyone. She had to watch as the five great shinobi villages fell and their people slaughtered. When it was over all she had left to show was herself, Kurama, and her long-dead father.
    “No Naruto, you will fix this and I’ll help you.”
    Naruto sighed and rolled her head around to look him in the eyes. “How?” Her voice was defeated when the question was asked.
    “Simple!” Minato replied he was beaming now, practically joyful in his response. “Time Travel!”
    “Fucking what?”
    And she travels back, blood smeared into the crakes in her hands, dirt in her hair, and a promise backed with fire burning in her eyes. She'll do it right this time. She swears it.

    He gave his son up for adoption, ensuring no one could ever connect the boy to him. After, he tried to do better, for the son he would never know. Finding out someone used his DNA to help clone Superman? He had to help that child since there was nothing he could do now for his own son.

    Batman was very confused to be contacted by Lex Luthor of all people but someone cloning Superman was not a good idea...and of course his newest menace child latched on to said clone. Then again the clone seemed to have imprinted on his son (not his son, not legally) like a duckling.

    Danny wished his parents could be normal, even if only occasionally. He loved them, loved his family. Maybe the portal not working would make them rethink things? And how dangerous could it be to give Tucker the information on his adoption paperwork?
