Summary
Simon mistakes Grace for an angel and the Hail Mary for purgatory, believing that Grace was sent to test his worthiness of Heaven. Obviously, Grace is not divine and fumbles constantly, but Simon thinks every "mistake" is a calculated move to test his morality and worthiness. This is my take on the Angel Grace trend :)

Summary
After 27 years, Earth's Hail Mary comes through. The world has been forever changed, and billions died because of the Astrophage crisis, but space agencies have done their best to survive and keep their telescopes pointing to Tau Ceti. After the beetles are spotted, Eva Stratt forces her way into the CSA office to learn what the Hail Mary crew discovered. Downloading the data is slow and happens in pieces, so the team has to try piecing together what happened out in the Tau Ceti system.
Eva Stratt is faced with the reality of what she did to Grace, watching him deal with the situation she put him in, leading to a complex mix of emotions. Part of her wishes things could have been different. But she knows that wishing on a star is useless.
