Iorveth’s next sentence read: The dh’oine is now looking over my shoulder and telling me that he is not ‘stubborn’ but ‘considerate’. Geralt would have laughed if he wasn’t still trying to wrap his head around this bemusing turn of events.
(Years after Geralt and Regis have reunited and settled down back in Toussaint, Vernon and Iorveth decide to winter with them down south. Chaos, predictably, ensues.)

Remembers how settled he’d felt, how uncertain yet still oddly calm, having only the vaguest idea where he was going but being sure about who he was going with. He looks at Naim. “Maybe, yeah.”

Robby’s gaze roamed across Dennis's face, tracing the planes and sharp angles of his features like he was trying to commit them to memory. He already had a long time ago. The horrible, aching knot in his chest dedicated to Dennis was a piece of Robby that he tried, time and time again, to rip out. Always to no avail.
If he had anything to come back for, it’d be this one thing.
"Marry me," Robby said.
Robby, about to head out for his sabbatical and never return, thinks to hell with it—nothing matters except for the very real, very inappropriate feelings he's been harboring for his first-year resident. So he proposes. And before he can take it back, Whitaker says yes.

Summary
Several months into playing house, Amy finally makes clear what she wants from Dennis. His reaction to her desire—or lack thereof—sends him spiraling about his failure to be the man she needs. Naturally, Dennis does what anyone would do in that situation: holes up in his boss’ bachelor pad, calls said boss on sabbatical, and speed-runs a sexuality crisis over the phone.
Oh, and he also has life-changing phone sex with his boss while he’s outside a roadside bar in Fargo, North Dakota. It’s an eventful evening, to say the least.

Summary
Dennis lays in the bed with a stillness so absolute it feels staged. A ventilator breathes for him in measured sighs, the sound too rhythmic to be human. It almost looks like he’s a kid pretending to sleep in the backseat of his parents’ car, hoping to be carried inside by strong paternal arms.
Robby would do anything for that to be the case. Instead, it is sedation that has smoothed away the sharpness from Dennis’s features.
It is a heart attack that has made him so still.
Or,
Dennis Whitaker fails to clear and gets shocked by a defibrillator. He takes it as a punishment for sinful eyes that can't seem to look away from Dr. Robby and decides not to tell anyone. The ER keeps moving, but Dennis's heart doesn't. It terribly, horribly doesn't.
