absolutely gut-wrenching. non-linear works crazy well to set up conflict and resolve without being too regressive for killua’s growth. emotions are conveyed so masterfully… pendulum in his chest, panic as he tries to avoid conflict with gon etc etc… oh em gee I love this fic if only the author could teach me their ways…

Summary
some nights, when rain did not fall, and the only sound that echoed in their ears was the mechanical rumble of the cars below, they would vomit up their fermented rage with a fury permitted only in solitude. the coolness of the bathroom tile, the small moths that drifted in slamming their little bodies into the single light above over and over. letting the putrid taste remain in their mouth, remembering this feeling, remembering what exactly they were.
