Matt Casey is firehouse fifty one very serious Lieutenant, his main focus is his job and he haven't been in a relationship since high school. Matt also struggles to open up about his past or life to anyone in the firehouse.
When Matt and Sylvie meet, they begin to change each other lives for the better and feelings begin to develop but are either of them willing to admit their more them friendship between them.

To say Sylvie is surprised by today’s turn of events would be an overstatement. Did she hope she left these sort of occurrences behind in Chicago? Yes. Did she think she really did? No.
So, no, she isn’t surprised when she looks up and sees a car heading straight toward the ambo just a few hours into her fourth ever shift with Portland FD.
They just parked at a vehicle accident. Her partner had already stepped out of the driver’s side, but just as Sylvie reaches for her door handle a car comes speeding out of opposing traffic and rams the ambo head on. Sending the ambulance backwards into the existing vehicle accident.

She yelps as she loses her grip on the binders and watches helplessly as they fall, the loose pieces of paper she had yet to sort through spreading out across the floor of the elevator. The elevator doors open, and the people in front of her start to exit. She bends down, muttering to herself angrily as she tries to collect all of the loose pieces of paper. She assumes everyone has left, so is surprised and jumps in shock as a hand touches her shoulder.
She looks up and comes face to face with a pair of bright and blue eyes that she could totally get lost in… if she had the time to that is. She blinks in surprise and pulls back slightly to see the blond who had stopped the elevator for her. He smiles as he holds out a bunch of her papers towards her, and her heart seems to skip a beat as he speaks up.

Her body registers the pain before she is fully aware, the deep pulse throbbing under her closed eyelids so intense she nearly loses consciousness again. Nausea threatens to overwhelm her. Concussion, she thinks. She takes a few deep breaths and her stomach seems to settle. Tentatively, she opens her eyes and slowly pulls herself up into a sitting position. Her hair is sticking to her forehead and she reaches up to push it away. When she lowers her hand, her fingers are covered with coagulated blood.
