But after the stream ends, it doesn’t leave him.

"Are you scared?" Why-man asks, their unclear face leaning towards his. Senku tries to pull away but finds himself unable to. Their static voice vibrates in his ear, "Are you surprised?"
'Why would I be?"
He can practically feel the pitying look why-man sends him, though it feels more cruel rather then genuine pity. Senku opens his mouth before he suddenly gasps.
And awakens in his shitty bunk, where he is still definitely injured. He groans and wants to slam his head against the wall. The dream may be a cause of concern but you know, a dude has more important concerns at the moment. Like his ex(?) mentor and his trigger happy friend.
Ishigami Senku has been craving monsters and a fuckton of ibeupfron, instead he gets sniped because somehow that's more likely in the Stone Age.
TLDR; Senku is just trying to find out who the why-man is, but as he learns more and more he finds himself regretting it.
